Today, we honor health center staff and volunteers who contribute to their communities’ health. It is because of them that Community Health Centers (CHCs) can offer high-quality care to their communities. Through 18 months of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, these front-line workers have taken on the brunt of the hard work, pain, and exhaustion that comes with keeping their communities healthy and safe. Staff’s resolve has allowed them to find innovative and fresh ways to care not only for the physical health of patients, but for the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of the community.
Health center staff makes up the core of what CHCs do and who they are. They are the ones who ensure that patients are heard, supported, and empowered to take control of their well-being. They provide the care that allows communities to have not only good health, but dignity. Health center staff is committed to addressing health care inequities and making sure that every member of their communities have the opportunity to live full and healthy lives. Their dedication and perseverance to quality care is what keeps the engines running. Thank a health center staff member today!
As National Health Center Week comes to a close, remember to continue celebrating the staff, volunteers, stakeholders, and patients, who are all key contributors to CHCs and the value they provide to their communities. As we live out our mission statement “Serving Others for Healthy Communities” in our work, we feel honored to work with CHCs, and will continue to shine a light on all the remarkable work they do.
